Make Room on Your Walls

The clock is ticking down to the Kentucky State Fair and to get you in the mood for non-stop rides, deep-fried fair foods and a multitude of blue ribbons, it’s time to show off a legendary icon that captures all the bright images of your fondest Fair memories – the campaign posters!

The Hollywood Walk of Fame hasn’t seen this many stars!
It’s your fair and it’s your turn to see the stars! Recognize familiar famous faces, including Heart, Kelly Clarkson and Gary Allan before they take the concert stages of the Kentucky State Fair in just less than a month! Whether you’ve already bought your tickets for the Main Stage performances or you’re excited about one of the free concerts, you’re sure to experience more stars than the August nights.

More rides than a New York City cab company!
You don’t have to travel to the Big Apple this year to experience the hustle and bustle. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom combines with North American Midway Entertainment to form an exhilarating Thrillway that will entice any thrill seeker. Twirl, dip and flip on rides you’ll never forget with an all-access wristband. For just $24, the wristband gives you access to all the rides on Thursday, Aug. 20, Monday, Aug. 24 through Thursday, Aug. 27 from 2 p.m. – close and on Sunday, Aug. 30 from noon – close. Got a pint-sized fairgoer? Purchase a $12 child wristband for any fairgoer under 48 inches on Fridays, Aug. 21 & 28 to enjoy unlimited access on all the kiddie rides.

Old Macdonald had a farm, but not as big as ours!
E-I-E-I-Oh my! From the rabbits donning blue ribbons to the cock-a-doodle-doos of the rooster crowing contest, there are furry festivities to keep everyone entertained. As well as the 4-H and FFA competitions and the animal displays, other amusing barnyard acts include: Miller’s Border Collies, Pork Chop Revue and JUMP! The Ultimate Dog Show featuring the amazing High Flying Dock Jumping Dogs. Or for a horse of another color, join the horse world in celebrating the “Super Bowl of Saddlebred Horses” as the World’s Championship Horse Show prances into Freedom Hall. Before you leave, be sure to stop by the North Lobby and learn how to create your very own animals to take home. The Balloon Masters will teach sculpting classes daily at 12:30 p.m. and throughout the Fair, they will also be contorting balloons into a life-size display of Old Macdonald’s Farm.

You can view the posters online now and they will also be distributed to many newspapers around the state in August, so look for one in your hometown paper as the Fair nears.
